Tip of the day: Increase Purchases and Other Activity on Your Site by Up to 50% by Sending Out Detailed Instructions.

Want to get twice as many of your subscribers to take critical action on your site -- like buy something?

Danielle found that simply sending an email with instructions on HOW to act can have a BIG impact!

She sent out detailed instructions for performing a number of different actions on her site, and saw excellent results across the board. Here are some things to try:

  • Leave comments on your blog or site -- True, getting comments from subscribers won't have a direct impact on your sales, but more comments equals more content, which translates to better search rankings, more traffic, and then more sales.

Plus, getting comments allows you to create more of a community, so that people are more encouraged to come back to your site time and again.

So Danielle sent an email to her subscribers, explaining how to leave comments, and voila, she had an IMMEDIATE increase in the number of subscribers leaving comments.

  • Join your forum or special gallery -- Again, getting people actively involved in your website creates a community, which leads to repeat visits, and potentially more sales.

So in an effort to increase the number of people who signed up for her special gallery, Danielle sent out an email telling people exactly how to do it, and was rewarded with a 50% increase in members!

  • Purchase more products -- Believe it or not, you really can get people to make more purchases from your website simply by telling them how to do it!

In this test, Danielle sent instructions explaining how to purchase products using PayPal, and saw an immediate impact on her bottom line.
Why do these three tips we've just shown you work so well? Well, according to Danielle: "People are simply too busy to figure things out their own, or to remember to take specific actions. It's YOUR job as a business owner to help them along the way... and NOT doing so leaves money on the table!"

Tip of the day: Increase Follow-Through on Key Actions with Email Reminders.

Is there something in particular you want your subscribers to do? Follow you on Twitter? Join your online forum? Revisit your site to check out new products?

Many people will put a "follow me on Twitter" logo on their website, or place a forum link on their homepage, then just sit back and hope that everyone stumbles across it, and decides to follow through.

If that's your strategy, you're not going to get very far!

In fact, as Danielle recently discovered through extensive email testing, by far the BEST way to get a subscriber to take action is through email reminders.

And we're not talking the odd email sent once a year. Danielle says it takes as many as 7 contacts before one of her subscriber takes action!

Okay, we know what you're thinking: If I ask my subscribers to "friend" me on Facebook 7 times in 7 different emails, they're all going to unsubscribe!

But according to Danielle, your subscribers actually won't mind getting this many email reminders, as long as you follow one very important rule:

ALWAYS answer the "what's in it for me" question!!

So, for instance, if you're trying to get a subscriber to become a friend on Facebook, you'll want to explain in your emails about all of the benefits of being a friend: they'll have free access to a community of like-minded people they can share ideas with, they'll be able to find out about special offers on your site before the general public, and so on.

What subscriber is going to resent you for offering them this kind of help, even if you do it multiple times?

But just to play it safe, you'll also want to pay attention to the timing of your email reminders. Send them too close together, and chances are you'll see an upswing in unsubscribes.

Tip of the day: Increase Your Opt-In Rates by Up To 75% with Survey Landing Pages.

Want to find out who your market is, or find out what they want (and how much they're willing to pay for it)? There's no better way than a survey landing page.

People LOVE to give their opinions on just about anything, particularly if there's a benefit to them for doing it.

But Danielle recently discovered there's a hidden benefit to doing a survey: she used survey landing pages along with pay-per-click advertising, and was rewarded with an increase in her opt-in rates of a whopping 75%!

The trick is to offer your visitors some kind of "bribe" or reward for filling out the survey, and make sure it's something you can email to them.

Then, at the end of the survey, thank them for participating, and ask for their names and email addresses to send the reward. And presto! An entire NEW source of opt-ins for your list.

Of course, the actual results of your survey are just as important as getting the opt-ins, as they'll help you improve your overall businesses, so make sure you don't just throw up any old thing to get email addresses.

Danielle finds that her surveys are the most successful when she:

  • Makes the pay-per-click ad enticing -- If possible, dangle the free "bribe" in front of your visitors right IN the ad

  • Keeps the survey short -- A maximum of 10 questions is usually best

  • Keeps the survey tightly focused -- When writing your questions, concentrate on just one goal. What is the one thing you MOST want to learn from your survey?

Tip Of The Day! Five “Quick Fixes” To Improve Your Homepage

Here are FIVE simple strategies that YOU can adopt IMMEDIATELY to improve your sites performance…

1. Do NOT hide your services behind a fancy “splash” page

Your site visitors want to spend the first few seconds finding out exactly what it is about and whether it is relevant.  If your content is hidden behind a splash page, it is likely that most people won’t look beyond it.

2. Make sure your site design clearly reflects your business or product

Remember that your first-time visitors are looking for clues that will reassure them – right away – that they are in the right place.

Always make sure your header and color scheme are representative of the true nature of your business.

3. Keep your navigation menu simple, and the menu labels clear

A navigation menu that’s clear and easy to follow is one of the key elements of any sucessdful website.

Too many different menu buttons (Danielle at Web Ahead has come across sites with as many as 15 different menu buttons) and you will be overwhelming your site visitors.

Try and group categories together and our advice is, ‘Don’t have more than 8 main categories.’

4. TELL your visitors what your site is about, who it’s for and what makes it different

DON’T waste time welcoming visitors to your site…..GET straight to the point…

·      What is the main benefit of the site?

·      Who is it for?

·      What is unique or different about your offer

By addressing these critical questions, your visitors will know at a glance that they've come to the right place, and stick around to explore.

5. Make sure your copy is scannable

The sad fact is that no matter how good your copy is, no one is going to read it.

Well, at least they won’t read it word for word.

Typical website visitors are impatient people and will just scan your homepage, looking for clues that will help them understand what the site is about.

What do do?  Break text into chunks and include headers and sub headers, bulleted lists and white space.  Also emphasize certain words or ‘key phrases’ by using bold text.  Doing this will guide your visitors eye to the most important aspects of your homepage.

Writing Great Headlines To Promote Your Affiliate Products.

Do you want to know a secret to selling your affiliate products successfully online? It's finding the right WORDS for the job.

And when it comes to your words, your headline needs to be rock solid!

That's because most visitors take 10 seconds or less to decide whether to explore your site for awhile -- or move on to the next site.

So it doesn't matter how well-designed your site is... how high your search engine ranking is... or how amazing your product is. If your words don't grab your visitors and keep them glued to your site, they're going to leave -- and probably never return.

Your headline is the first thing your visitors see. It needs to capture their attention, spark their curiosity, and compel them to read further. And it has to do it fast.

To guarantee YOUR headlines jump off the page and pull potential buyers deeper into your site, always follow our Top 5 "Unbreakable" Headline Rules...

Rule #1: Relate a Problem Most of your site visitors will be looking for specific information related to a problem they're trying to solve.

Maybe they're curious about local flight schools in their area. Maybe they're searching for molded chrome fenders to put on a 1953 Chevy Bel-Air. Or maybe they're trying to figure out how to "unshrink" wool clothes that accidentally ended up in the dryer.

Whatever their problem is, relate to it. Show them YOU know what it's all about. Demonstrate a clear and genuine understanding of their wants and needs -- and they'll be far more willing to buy from you.

Rule #2: Present a Solution You've described a problem. Now you've got to solve it in a way that creates a powerful image in the mind of your visitors.

Tell your visitors they're about to discover how to get the most qualified flight instructors at the lowest price in town. Describe how their new chrome fenders will help them outshine the competition at the next state-wide car show. Promise them their wife or girlfriend will NEVER know her favorite sweater once shrank small enough to fit a chihuahua.

Get them to see the end result -- and you're more than halfway to making the sale.

(NOTE: "How to..." and "Discover..." headlines are good at getting people to imagine the end result.)

Rule #3: Focus on Benefits, Not Features People aren't so interested in what your product or service is. They want to know what it does.

Specifically, they want to know what it'll do for THEM.

Tell them they'll get the real "inside scoop" on the flight school scene -- because they'll be learning it from someone who's been a pilot in the area for more than 30 years. (Provided that's true, of course.)

Have them imagine the honks, smiles, and admiring glances their car will get every time they drive it down the road.

Describe the relief they'll feel when they know they're back in their wife or girlfriend's good books.

Remember the most important question that's on all of your visitors minds -- "What's in it for ME?" -- and make sure you answer it.

Rule #4: Speak Directly To Your Visitors

Write your headlines as if you were talking to your favorite customer -- someone you know very well. Make that person the focus of everything you say.

Don't tell them how great your product is. Get them to picture how great their lives will be after they've used it.

Just make sure your words are genuine... and use the same kind of language your potential buyers use.

(For example, if your business is designing sew-on patches for leather biker jackets, you're NOT going to speak to your customers in the same way as someone who sells quilting supplies!)

It's like this:

If your customers say "dude," you say "dude."

But if they're the kind of people who say "folks," then don't say dude -- or you're dead.

Rule #5: Make Your Headlines "Pop" When it comes to writing headlines, it's not just what you write -- it's how you format it.

If you clump all the words together into a dense paragraph, like this one, for example, in which I'm going to go on and on and use lots of commas and incredibly unnecessary adverbs and adjectives and pile one idea upon the next (and even include a parenthetical comment) until you can't even remember how the sentence even started -- well, your most important ideas will end up lost in the visual clutter.

BUT: if you limit yourself to just one important idea per line...

And use simple formatting tricks

Such as bolding and italics and ALL CAPS

... Then your readers can get your meaning in a single glance!

So those are our "Top 5 Unbreakable Headline Rules"... keep them in mind when it's time to craft your next headline.

Just remember: Your headline can have a massive impact on your sales, so you'll want to spend lots of time on it.

We spend HOURS writing our headlines, and we often test four or five of them before we settle on one that works. But that time is always well spent.

Once you've written a few different headlines, TEST THEM. Run them for a couple of weeks, then compare the results against other headlines. Then, tweak them and test them again!

You may have to do this a few times before you hit on one that pulls consistently... but it's definitely worth the effort.
